34 Weeks

Yesterday I went in for my 34 week appointment. I am now seeing my doctor every 2 weeks instead of 4 weeks. This appointment was a very long and very interesting appointment. I ended up waiting in the waiting room for around 45 minutes.....I was waiting so long and was so uncomfortable that I started having some Braxton Hicks contractions and lots of pressure down below. I was finally taken back to my own exam room by the nurse. She checked my weight, my blood pressure, my urine, and the baby's heart rate.....everything looked GREAT. I then waited for another half an hour to be seen by my doctor (whom I am not to fond of to begin with). Well, finally the Nurse Practitioner came in, and asked if it would be okay if she would examine me......I was so tired and having more Braxton Contractions.....that I didn't care who saw me, I just wanted to go home. She was a little worried with the contractions and pressure so she did an internal exam. She said that my cervix is still long and it is still closed, but that it is very soft. She didn't go into my detail, but seemed a little alarmed at how soft I was for 34 weeks. While she was examining me she could feel me having a contraction......so she wants me to take it easy and drink lots of fluid.....she explained that if I have any more contractions and any more pressure I need to go straight to the ER and they will stop labor....they will push it off till 36 weeks. She then made my next appointment for next week instead of 2 weeks. I proceeded to ask her if she delivered babies, and she told me no.....she just helps the doctor's when they need it :o( :o( I just wish my doctor would listen to me and was more in tune to my body and my previous pregnancies. So now we are in mad dash to get the nursery and everything done....DON'T WORRY, I am taking it very easy. Phil steam cleaned the boy's room and the living room last night....and today he is going to steam clean the nursery and then tackle our NASTY couch. I am going to spend the day washing and folding all her clothes :o) I will keep everyone updated!

Baby Shower

Today was my baby shower and boy was it an AWESOME shower. The day didn't start out to good for me....I woke up with a HORRIBLE sore throat and cough.....but hubby made me Blueberry Pancakes and sent me back to bed after breakfast.....so I was allowed a little nap before my special day began. After my relaxing morning, me and my sister went out to lunch. It was so nice to eat in peace and have an adult conversations....sometimes I forget how to have those ;o) After lunch, we got some coffee and sat around talked some more.....nice times!!! Then we headed off to my shower. My very good friend Jennifer set up and hosted my BEAUTIFUL baby shower. It was even more beautiful than I have in visioned. I am so blessed to have such great family and friends in Arkansas :o) We sat around eating some good finger foods, played some cute shower games, and then I got to open some wonderful presents. Then there was the BEAUTIFUL cake.....that sure did give me a chocolate sugar rush :o) I had such a wonderful time.....and came home feeling a little bit better :o)

32 Weeks

This morning we had an ultra sound appointment....along with my 32 week OB appt. The ultrasound went good. Baby is still indeed a little girl (mama was having some weird dreams that she was in fact a "he") she is growing good and looking very healthy...so we are very happy about that :o) She is looking pretty big so far....already measuring 4 lbs and 11 oz......so I might be pushing out an 8 lb little girl! My ob appt went good too....blood pressure is good, no protein in urine, tummy measuring on tract! So now I will go and see my OB every 2 weeks instead of every 4 weeks. We are getting very excited in our household. This weekend I am planning on washing some of her clothes, putting her crib and bedding together....and maybe doing some more shoppping ;o) Ace came to me and asked me the other day......"Mom, it is taking a LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG, LONG time for my baby sister to come.....when is she going to get here???" I think he is ready for his little sister to arrive.....as for Aidan.....I think he has no clue how his little world is about to change!!!!

Fun Filled Family Weekend

This past weekend was a nice family weekend :o) Phil had off of work and we had no birthday parties, social events, etc to attend. So we took advantage of the nice weekend. We took the boys to some parks and took them Downtown to the "Hot Springs". They had a BLAST :o) They got to run around and release a lot of energy and they were both very happy to have their Daddy with them! On Sunday we attended Sunday School and Church and afterwards went out to eat with some friends and then went to Oaklawn to watch the horse races. It was the first time me or the boys have ever been to the horse races. It was GREAT. The boys were fascinated with the horses (Aidan kept thinking they were doggies, so he would bark at them). It was a nice weekend with the family :o)
